Army Catering Corps Association
About Us
Up until 31 Dec 06 the Army Catering Corps (ACC) Association had two main functions; firstly as a Charitable Trust providing financial assistance to any former man or woman with Wartime, Regular or National Service. Immediate dependents such as widows or widowers also qualified. Requests for assistance were made through Service related organisations such as the Soldiers Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) or The Royal British Legion (TRBL). Both organisations have offices in most large towns and cities and can be found in local telephone directories. Website addresses are as follows:
SSAFA: http://www.ssafa.org.uk/
OR
TRBL: http://www.britishlegion.org.uk/ .
This work is now done by the Royal Logistic Corps as detailed on the home page.
ACC Officers’ Club - £20 per annum collected by direct debit in January. For former ACC officers and former and serving RLC Food Service Officers. Contact: controller@accassociation.org or telephone 01252 833393.
ACC Golfing Society - This is a thriving society with 120 members. There are eight subsidised annual matches against other Corps, four society events and a tour to Scotland in May. For further information please contact the secretary Allan Mills on allan@mills4284.fsnet.co.uk or ring 01420 488974.
This was a great day as usual with 165 veterans and their guests attending the church, march past and lunch afterwards. The parade will go on the same in future years in the same venues despite the School of Catering moving to Worthy Down in early 2009. PLEASE MAKE A NOTE IN YOUR DIARY NOW FOR 12 JUL 09. >>>>>>PICTURES
