Welcome and Opening Remarks:
The Chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting and thanked all members of the Committee:
Tony
Monk
for
co-ordinating
the
majors
again
this
year.
It
is
no
easy
task
putting
out
all
the
information,
collating
the
returns,
organising
the
draw,
confirming
the
details
for
all
attendees
as
well
as
playing
in
the
competition,
checking
the
scores
and
managing
the
prize
giving. Also for putting together a lot of information for today’s meeting which is most useful and greatly appreciated by everyone.
Mike Bell for liaising with match Secretaries, coordinating the matches and sending out team selections and details for each match.
Alan
Cochrane,
for
agreeing
to
assume
the
position
of
President
and
attending
all
the
Majors
and
speaking
at
dinner
each
evening,
especially his tribute to Geoffrey Hawkins recognising his contribution to the Society over the past 50 years.
Terry
Reddings,
having
spent
two
years
as
Captain
during
the
period
of
the
Covid-19
pandemic
and
his
contribution
playing
in
all
the
matches and major competitions.
Geoff Acott, for managing the accounts and membership records and also for his role in co-ordinating the annual Society Golf Tour.
Joe
Beaver,
attending
as
2022
Society
Captain.
The
chairman
said
“enjoy
every
minute
throughout
your
year
as
it
will
go
by
very
quickly”.
Overall
the
Chairman
considered
that
the
Society
had
a
very
successful
return
to
golfing
activities,
with
a
lot
of
members
not
seen
for
some
years
returning
to
play,
particularly
on
Captain’s
Day
in
September
which
was
reminiscent
of
the
old
days
with
over
30
members
and guests attending.
Apologies for absence:
Apologies for absence were received from Allan Cochrane President, Mike Bell Match Secretary & Paul Critchley, Member.
Minutes of the 2019 Committee Meeting & Matters Arising:
These
were
sent
out
to
everyone
prior
to
the

in
any
detail
at
the
Committee
Meeting.

There
were
no
matters
arising
from
the

Review
of
Subscriptions
:
Due
to
the
small

(52)
it
was
agreed
there
was
little
point
in
raising

as
the
sum realised would be insignificant.

:

they
remain
attractive
for

to

2021 Events Report
Society Majors:
Tony Monk provided the following report on the Majors held during 2021:
2020

a
complete
write
off
like
so
many
Association

However
the
Society
held
three
out
of
four
majors
during
the
year
as
well
as
matches
against
PWRR,
RAPC
and
RAF
Caterers.
The
2021

can
be
found

held
on

September
was
a
poignant
affair
attended
by
a
record
33
players
and
guests.
Aside
from
the
golf,
it
was
the
opportunity
to
thank
Geoffrey
Hawkins
for
his
50
year
contribution
to
the
Society
as
he
retired
from
being
President
over
the
last
few
years.
Current

Allan
Cochrane
presented
Geoff
with
an
engraved

of
his

red
wine.

planned
for
2022
which
are
detailed
in
the
Society
Programme
of
Events
on
the .The exact date and location for the RAF match has yet to be confirmed as they may well want to treat it as their
home
fixture
next
year.
I
have
written
to
Mick
Garrett,
the
RAF
secretary
saying
that
I
have
arranged
a
date
of
the
7th
September
at
the
Army

if
he
wants
to
play
in
Aldershot.
The
RAF

assured
me
that
The
Bone

Contention
and
The
Bone

a
permanent
home
at
the
school
of
catering
in

I
will
contact
him
to
see
who
is
responsible
for
getting
them
engraved.
At
present
the
RAF
match
is
still
over
36
holes
but
I
am
looking
to
try
and
bring
it
in
line
with
all
our
other
matches
which are now played over 27 holes".

Captain's
Charity
:
Terry
Reddings
the
2021
Society
Captain
selected
"Parkinson's
UK"

his
target
and
managed
to
raise
around
£500
through
the
generosity

and
other
organisations
with
which
he
is
associated.
His
generous
donation
of
a
ball
for
beating
his
score
and
a
welcome
pack
was
a
nice
touch
and
came
in
handy
for
those
who
rarely
keep
the
same
ball
throughout
the
day!
After
prize-giving
he
presented
the
2022
Captain's

to
Joe
Beaver
